PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Portions of the wildly successful and beloved film "The Godfather" were filmed at Sands Point Preserve. So it only seems fitting that the Sands Point Preserve Conservancy chose the movie to kick off its first-ever drive-in movie screening.

You can watch the 1972 crime film — which stars acting legends Al Pacino, Marlon Brando, and Diane Keaton — on a three-story-high screen on Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 7:30 p.m. Listen to the movie from your car radio, or roll down your windows to hear sound from large PA speakers.

Event Admission
Members: $25 per car
Non-Members: $30 per car

Directed by Francis Ford Coppola, "The Godfather" is centered around a 1940s New York Mafia family and their struggle to preserve their influence as power is transferred from father to son.

Coppola wrote the screenplay with Mario Puzo, who wrote the best-selling 1969 novel of the same name.
