Nassau Law Firm Catches Fire: 2 Hurt, Building Destroyed

A building housing a Nassau County law firm caught fire Thursday. Two firefighters were hurt and the building was completely destroyed.

MANHASSET, NY — Two firefighters were hurt Thursday afternoon battling a blaze at a Manhasset law firm.

The fire ignited around 6 p.m. Thursday at the Law Offices of Marchese & Maynard on Plandome Road, near Dennis Street. The Manhasset-Lakeville Volunteer Fire Department told Patch two firefighters suffered minor injuries and the building was considered a total loss.

Photos showed heavy flames ripping through the front, side and roof of the building. Thick, black smoke also billowed out of the structure.

The blaze has been extinguished. Investigators are trying to identify the cause of the blaze, but do not believe it was suspicious, the fire department said.

The law firm handles trust, estate, elder and real estate law, according to its website.
