Free Boating Safety Course Offered In Town Of North Hempstead: May 7

Those who successfully complete this free, 8-hour course will earn a safe boating certificate. Must be at least 10 years old to participate.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — The Town of North Hempstead will be hosting a free New York boating safety course next month in Port Washington.

The course will take place on Saturday, May 7, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Manorhaven Beach — which is located at 158 Manorhaven Blvd.

Town officials say the course will "provide an introduction to the principles of safe and responsible boating. It will cover basic boating skills and encourages common sense and courtesy to all who share the water as well as rules of the nautical road, required safety equipment, special boating-related activities, and much more."
