Kids Under 13 Golf Free In Port Washington Under New Initiative
North Hempstead officials are offering kids a sweet deal — golf for free in Port Washington.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Kids under 13 can play a round of golf for free now at Harbor Links Golf Course in Port Washington thanks to North Hempstead officials. Judi Bosworth, the town supervisor, recently announced the new Junior Golf Initiative along with other members of the Town Board.
Under the new initiative, kids up to 13 years old can hit a round of golf when accompanied by an adult who paid to play. As with many things in life, certain caveats apply. First, the free round is only offered during twilight times, or after 3 p.m. from opening day to Memorial Day, and from Labor Day to closing day. No advance tee times will be allowed, the free golf outing is only allowed on a walk-up basis.
Out-of-towners pay a higher rate to play the course, a spokeswoman for the town told Patch, but the accompanying child is free.
