MANHASSET, NY — Police have released new details in the slashing of a teenager during a botched drug deal Friday afternoon at the Manhasset train station. Two youths, ages 16 and 17, were arrested after police said the younger teen slashed a second 17-year-old boy with a knife, leaving him with severe cuts to both of his hands.

The slashing happened around 3:40 p.m., police and MTA said. The attackers then stole $30 from the wounded victim and ran off. The youths were found a short time later and arrested.

The victim was rushed to a hospital for treatment.

Both youths were charged with assault and robbery. They were scheduled to appear Saturday in family court in Westbury.
