More Than $120K Stolen From Nassau Synagogue's Business Account: Police
A man, originally hired by Chabad to make carpentry repairs, made over 200 unauthorized transactions, police say.
ROSLYN HEIGHTS, NY — A Suffolk County man was arrested after reportedly stealing more than $100,000 from the Chabad of Roslyn's business account, police said.
A joint investigation between the Nassau County Police Department and the Nassau County District Attorney's Office revealed that from December 2022 to December 2024, Rami Mohamed, 40, gained access to the Chabad of Roslyn business account, police said.
Mohamed, of Deer Park, initiated 201 unauthorized transactions, causing a loss of nearly $124,000, authorities said.

Mohamed had been hired in September 2022 by Chabad of Roslyn, to perform minor carpentry repairs, police said.
Mohamad was charged with second-degree grand larceny and was expected to be arraigned on Thursday, police said.
