New Playground Project Planned At Port Washington Children’s Center
The groundbreaking is scheduled for May. The project aims to serve all children and help improve their motor skills.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — A new playground project's groundbreaking at the Port Washington Children's Center is scheduled for May 11.
The project’s design will serve all children and help improve motor skills through innovative play features, the center wrote in a news release. These inclusive features ensure children with varying development needs can play together at the center.
The playground will be renamed after Faustina Lees, one of the center's co-founders. Lees helped create the children center because she saw the need for affordable childcare in her diverse community and put in the work to make it happen.

The playground rebuild is a collaboration of the center’s staff, board members, Parent Teacher
Organization, and funds privately raised by the nonprofit organization, the Port Washington
Children’s Center.
"The support of generous donors, like John Lees, has been immensely helpful in making this project possible," the center wrote.
