North Hempstead Schedules 9/11 Memorial Service
It is important to come together as a community each year to honor the memory of the 56 residents lost that day, said the town supervisor.

NORTH HEMPSTEAD, NY — The Town of North Hempstead will host its annual Memorial Service commemorating the victims of the 2001 terror attacks at 8:15 a.m. Sept. 11 at Manhasset Valley Park.

But despite the many years, the day is as heartbreaking as ever for our North Hempstead family,” Supervisor Jennifer DeSena said in the announcement. “We lost 56 residents that day, so it is especially significant that we come together as a community each year to honor their memory. I invite neighbors to please join us as we remember these loved ones and the brave heroism of our first responders with a special ceremony at the Town’s 9/11 Memorial at Manhasset Valley Park.”
