Port Day Camp Unites Community Through Growth, Leadership and Lasting Memories
Port Washington Children's Center Announces Early Bird Special Extension
Every summer, Port Day Camp becomes a vibrant hub of growth, connection and community for families throughout Port Washington.
From spirited games on the field to creative afternoons in the art room and refreshing swims under the sun, Port Day Camp offers campers a season full of discovery. Children build skills and try new activities while also forming friendships and memories that last long after the summer ends. With each passing week, they grow in confidence, character and independence.
But the camp’s impact reaches far beyond its youngest attendees. High school students step into their first leadership roles as counselors, taking on responsibilities that challenge and inspire them. They learn the values of teamwork, accountability, and mentorship as they become role models to the campers who look up to them.

"What makes Port Day Camp truly special is how it connects us all," said Christine Paige, executive director of the Children’s Center. "Younger staff learn from seasoned counselors, campers look up to their leaders, and parents get to watch both groups flourish. It’s a full-circle experience that strengthens our whole community."
Former Executive Director Donna Preminger recently stopped by the center and said, “Of course, my day wouldn't have been complete without a visit to Port Day Camp. Matt Holzer and staff direct an amazing camp program year after year!”
