Port Washington Children’s Center Students Learn to Appreciate Nature

Students Explore the Outdoors, Plant Seeds

The Port Washington Children’s Center (PWCC), a trusted cornerstone of local childcare for more than 48 years, recently took their Early Childhood Summer Program outdoors.

The students went on bug hunts and nature walks to build a greater appreciation for the outdoors. They explored the world around them while finding joy in nature. Students then dug holes and planted their own seeds in a garden, learning how something small can grow into something so big. They ended by making a wish before covering their seeds with dirt.

“We need to take care of our plant and water it and it will grow super big!” said PWCC student Ava.

“The Port Washington Children’s Center works hard to instill appreciation for the wonders of our planet in our students,” said PWCC Executive Director Christine Paige. “Activities such as this one teach our students the importance of nature and the fun they can have outdoors.”
