A witness who was in a vehicle nearby at the time of the hit-and-run and did not wish to be identified, told Patch the pedestrian appeared to have fallen just before she was run over by black pickup truck. The witness, who was stopped at the light, saw the pedestrian's umbrella fly into the air just before she was run over. The truck was making a left turn from Willowdale onto Port Washington Boulevard.

The truck driver appeared to look into his rear view mirror to see if he hit something, but kept driving.
