Register For North Hempstead's Youth Sports Program This Fall

The Town of North Hempstead's fall sports program is free to children with a "Yes We Can" Community Center membership.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Registration is now open for the Town of North Hempstead's fall youth sports program.

The activities are free and are tailored to a variety of interests and ages. They will take place at the "Yes We Can" Community Center (141 Garden St.) through Saturday, Nov. 20. Registration must be done in person.

"We have a diverse offering of new youth classes slated for the fall," said Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth."There are plenty of programs for kids of all ages and skill levels, including baseball, basketball, soccer, football, volleyball, and even racquetball."

Mondays

  • Basketball (ages 5-7) from 3 to 4 p.m.
  • Basketball (ages 8-11) from 4 to 6 p.m.
  • Basketball (ages 12-14) from 6 to 8 p.m.

Tuesdays

  • Baseball (ages 5-7) from 3 to 4 p.m.
  • Baseball (ages 8-11) from 4 to 5 p.m.
  • Baseball (ages 12-14) from 5 to 6 p.m.
  • Racquet Sports (ages 12-14) from 4 to 5 p.m.
  • Racquet Sports (ages 8-11) from 5 to 6 p.m.

Wednesdays

  • Football (ages 8-11) from 4 to 5 p.m.
  • Football (ages 12-14) from 5 to 6 p.m.

Thursdays

  • Basketball (ages 7-11, beginner) from 3 to 4 p.m.
  • Basketball (ages 8-12, advanced) from 4 to 6 p.m.

Fridays

  • Soccer (ages 5-7) from 3 to 4 p.m.
  • Soccer (ages 8-11) from 4 to 5 p.m.
  • Soccer (ages 12-14) from 5 to 6 p.m.
  • Volleyball (ages 12-14) from 4 to 5 p.m.
  • Volleyball (ages 8-11) from 5 to 6 p.m.

Saturdays

  • Soccer (ages 5-7) from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
  • Soccer (ages 8-11) from 2 to 3 p.m.
  • Basketball (ages 5-7) from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
  • Football (ages 5-7) from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Football (ages 8-11) from 1 to 2 p.m.

An active "Yes We Can" Community Center membership is required for enrollment in the classes. Parents are required to stay with children ages five through seven during programs. Classes may be held outdoors at Martin "Bunky" Reid Park in Westbury.
