One Dead, Another Hurt In Crown Heights Lobby Shooting, Police Say
Two men were shot in the lobby of a Bergen Street apartment building on Saturday, according to police.

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — One man is dead and another hospitalized after a weekend shooting in a Crown Heights apartment building lobby, according to police.
Kevin Alves, 38, was found shot in the head on the first floor of 1144 Bergen St. just before 1 a.m. Saturday, according to the NYPD.
Another 45-year-old man was shot in the torso, police said.

Both men were rushed to Kings County Hospital where Alves later died and the 45-year-old was listed in stable condition as of Sunday, police said.
Alves lived on New York Avenue in a building just a few minutes' walk from where his body was found, police said.

According to the NYPD, no arrests had been made as of Monday morning.
