5 Things: Keith Haring Art-Making Workshop and Introduction to Bird Watching

Prospect Heights-area subway, alternate side and event highlights you won't want to miss.

 

1. You need to do some art. There are two interesting events at the  today: . Between 1 and 5 the Brooklyn-based Urban Folk Art® Collective leads a drop-in workshop for all ages, inspired by Keith Haring and resulting in a community-created mural. Plus at 1:30 and 3:30 there are monoprint workshops inspired by Haring’s process. There is a $15 materials fee, and registration is required for the monoprint workshops, but as of late last night, there were still tickets available via www.museumtix.com.

2. You need to be outside. It's supposed to be gorgeous today, to head to Prospect Park for Introduction to Birdwatching. Meet at the Audubon Center. 12 p.m.-1:30 p.m. Free.

3. You need to get the kids out of the house. There are two fantastic outdoor events today, the  from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., free with garden admission of $10, kids under 12 free; and the  at the , from 1-4 p.m., Free. See our  for a ton of other options. 

4. You need to know if your train is running ... There are no planned service changes affecting Prospect Heights stations today, however all weekend there are no No. 4 trains south of Brooklyn Bridge, according to the MTA

5. ... And if you have to move your car. Not today of course, but alternate side won't be suspended again until Thursday, May 17 for Solemnity of the Ascension, according to the NYCDOT.
