5 Things You Need to Know Today: Teen Writing Workshop with Sarah Maclean, Free Comedy, Q Train Work Continues, More

Prospect Heights information and events you won't want to miss.

1. You need a show. How about  ? It's a musical about a traveling troupe of performers from a new religious sect who create a tent-meeting style ‘passion play’ about the world's origins. American Can Factory, 232 3rd St., in Park Slope. 8pm and 10pm. $11.

2. You need a good laugh. Tonight there's the  at Postmark Cafe, featuring the funny and clean  stand-up and sketch comedy hosted by Luke Thayer and Abbi Crutchfield. This week is an all-female line-up with Arden Myrin (Chelsea Lately), Nikki Glaser, Jennifer Grant, and Ladybits co-founders Abbi Crutchfield and Jen Dziura.Postmark Cafe, 326 6th St., bet. 4th and 5th avenues, 8 p.m. Free.

3. Your teen needs a literary agent. If she or he is into creative writing, let her or him know about the  today with New York Times bestselling Young Adult fiction author Sarah Maclean. , 267 7th Ave., 5-8 p.m., Free.

5. You need to know if your train is running, and if you have to move your car. Bad news on both counts. Alternate side won't be suspended again (barring a late-season snow storm) until Passover on April 19-20, according to theNYC DOT. And the late-night work on the Q Train continues this weekend, meaning from that from 12:15 a.m. to 6 a.m. Sat., 7 a.m. Sun and 5 a.m. Mon, Q trains only go from Coney Island to Atlantic. There you trudge to Pacific and take the N. Also the Q will only run every 30 minutes during those periods, according to the MTA. Still, better than the last three weekends, when there was no Q for Prospect Heights at all.
