BROOKLYN, NY — A Brooklyn convenience store was robbed at gunpoint late Sunday, according to police.

Two suspects walked into Cairo Grocery Corp on the corner of Sterling Place and Schenectady Avenue around 11 p.m. Sunday and approached a 33-year-old employee, police said.

One man brandished a firearm, while the other went behind the counter to grab cash from the register, police said. The two men then fled the shop, walking northbound along Schenectady Avenue.

They made off with about $3,500 in cash, according to police.

The store's employee was not injured, authorities said.
