Crown Heights Baby Dies Day After Christmas, Father Arrested: Police

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — A Crown Heights man stands accused of causing the death of his infant son, who died the day after Christmas, police said.

Police found the critically injured 4-month-old boy inside a Crown Street apartment, near Schenectady Avenue, on Dec. 20 at just before 2:30 a.m., the NYPD said.

Medics rushed little Men'Dece Reuben to Kings County Hospital, where he died six days later, police said.

Men'Dece's father Donnie Reuben, 25, was arrested on reckless assault on a child charges on Dec. 21, police said.

The medical examiner has yet to make a final determination, but officials said initial observations pointed to shaken baby syndrome as the cause of death.
