Crown Heights Building Catches Fire Twice In Same Day: FDNY
Firefighters were called to the four-story building on Franklin Avenue twice on Sunday afternoon, according to FDNY.

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — A building in Crown Heights caught fire twice within just hours on Sunday afternoon, according to FDNY.
Firefighters were first called to the four-story Franklin Avenue building, found between Park and Prospect Place, around 1:40 p.m., when a fire broke out on the second and third floor, according to FDNY.
The fire, which brought more than 100 FDNY members to the building, was under control shortly after 2:30 p.m., the department said.

But, firefighters were called back a second time a few hours later, just before 6 p.m., when a fire started up again, according to the department. The second, "small fire" was extinguished shortly after it was called in, FDNY officials said.
There were no injuries from the fires, according to FDNY.

Tenants told News 12 the top floor and several apartments were demolished by the first blaze. The fires started when a girl on the second floor threw what they called a "fire bug" outside the building and it caught on fire on an apartment's curtains, tenants told the outlet.
