Crown Heights Gunman Murdered Man Outside His Home: Cops
Steven Brown stands accused of fatally shooting a man outside his St. Marks Avenue home in May, police said.

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — The gunman who fatally shot a Crown Heights man outside his own building was arrested more than two months after the murder, police said.
Steven Brown, 23, was arrested Thursday morning for murdering Jamal Cox Simms near his home on St. Marks and New York avenues on May 16, said police.
Brown, who lives at 780 St. Marks Ave., allegedly shot Simms in the head just outside his building about 7:15 p.m., according to police.

Simms, also of Crown Heights, was pronounced dead by emergency responders who rushed to the scene, police said.
Brown now faces charges of murder and criminal possession of a weapon, said police.
