Crown Heights Shooting: 3 Injured As Gunfire Erupts At Brooklyn Wing House

No one has been arrested in connection with the gunfire at Brooklyn Wing House, police said.

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — A gunman opened fire at a popular new Crown Heights wing joint Friday night, sending three people to the hospital. The shots rang out around 7:30 p.m. at Brooklyn Wing House, which just opened on the corner of Union Street and Nostrand Avenue, an NYPD spokesman told Patch.

Three people were wounded in the shooting and taken to Kings County Hospital, police told Patch. A 20-year-old man was shot in the neck; a 33-year-old was hit in the back of the leg; and an 18-year-old took a bullet to his right leg, according to police.

All three were in stable condition and likely to survive, police said. No one has been arrested in connection with the shooting, cops said.

"I'm saddened to see this horrible act of violence just steps from our campaign office," Fox said in a statement Friday night. "I am hoping that those injured make a speedy recovery, and that the perpetrators are brought to justice."

Brooklyn Wing House said it would be closed for the night "due to unforeseen circumstances." A call to the restaurant Friday night went unanswered.

Brooklyn Wing House gathered plenty of publicity before it opened its doors to the neighborhood. A tweet promoting its Aug. 19 opening gathered more than 14,000 retweets.

Among the menu items at the new restaurant: a catfish sandwich on a cheddar biscuit served with collard greens, smoked turkey neck and peppercorn named after Notorious B.I.G.

DNAinfo's Rachel Holliday Smith recently profiled the joint ahead of its opening.

"Our stuff is fresh, marinated for 24 hours," executive chef Omar Walters told DNAinfo. "We have buffalo, but we also have a tamarind glaze, we have pineapple teriyaki, habanero. We have jerk wings. We’ve got garlic parmesan."
