Hit-And-Run Cadillac Driver Strikes Woman On Atlantic Ave, Police Say

Surveillance footage shows the Cadillac racing across Atlantic Avenue and hitting a woman crossing the street with the light.

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — Police are hunting for the Cadillac driver who struck a pedestrian, hopped out of the car to chat with her, then sped away, police said.

The hit-and-run driver was traveling north on Thomas S. Boyland Street around 3 p.m. on Monday, July 24, when he swerved toward the sidewalk and struck a 55-year-old woman who was trying to cross the street, said police.

A surveillance camera shows the black Cadillac speeding up to avoid oncoming traffic on Atlantic Avenue before careening into the woman crossing with the light.

The driver pulled the car over and returned to speak to the woman he had hit, then raced back to the car and sped away, said police.

His victim was rushed to Kings County Hospital where she was treated for a fractured right wrist, according to police.

Police describe the suspect a man wearing a white shirt, dark pants and black sneakers.
