Man Shot, Killed In Crown Heights Early Tuesday: Police

The shooting occurred about a block away from where an apparent murder-suicide took place last week, according to authorities.

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — A man was shot and killed in Crown Heights early Tuesday morning, police said.

A 26-year-old man was shot in the head near Crown Street and Rodgers Avenue just before 2 a.m., according to police.

First responders rushed the victim to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced dead, officials said.

The victim's name is being withheld pending family notification, police said.

He was found just about a block away from an earlier shocking act of violent last week when police found a woman and a man dead in an apparent murder-suicide.

According to the Daily News, the victim was a recent parolee and had been released from Ulster Correctional Facility a year ago.

In 2018, he was convicted on a robbery charge in Brooklyn, according to the Daily News, and had a record of arrests for grand larceny, robbery and assault.

Police said there have been no arrests and that the investigation is still ongoing.
