Man Steals Backpack, Cash From 11-Year-Old Girl In Prospect-Lefferts Gardens: Police

PROSPECT-LEFFERTS GARDENS, BROOKLYN — Authorities are searching for a man who they say is responsible for a grand larceny spree in the Prospect-Lefferts Gardens area, including one instance where he took an 11-year-old's backpack.
That happened on Thursday, May 25, around 3 p.m. on East 40th Street, a block south of PS 235, according to the NYPD. The man, pictured above, took the little girl's backpack, along with a notebook, text book, headphones, scarf and $7 in cash, police said.
Authorities did not specify whether the girl went to PS 235.

Ten days before that, the man had taken an iPhone from another female victim, whose age police did not give, somewhere on Albany Avenue, police said.
And on May 27, around 2:10 p.m., he snatched an iPhone 6 out of a 23-year-old woman's hand near East 39th Street and Church Avenue, police said.
