National Weather Service Issues Flash Flood Watch

Heavy rains and dropping temperatures predicted for Brooklyn, Manhattan and Northern Queens Wednesday night.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for Brooklyn and Northern Queens.

A cold front is predicted, accompanied by 1-to-3 inches of rain. Rain rates could reach 1 inch an hour, leading to flash floods in areas with poor drainage or small streams, according to the NWS. 

The watch is in effect from Wednesday evening through late Wednesday night. It also covers Manhattan, the Bronx and parts of New Jersey, Rockland and Westchester.
