For the first time since 2020, Brooklyn will close the year with its own fireworks display.

PROSPECT HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — It's not yet Thanksgiving, but Brooklyn is already making New Year's Eve plans.

For the first time since 2020, the Brooklyn New Year's Eve fireworks are returning to Grand Army Plaza.

In an announcement with Borough President Antonio Reynoso, the Prospect Park Alliance and the city's parks department, the return of the 40-year tradition should mark for a great show in the sky.

“It’s not a Brooklyn New Year’s Eve without fireworks in Prospect Park,” said Reynoso in an announcement. “What an honor it is to team up with Prospect Park Alliance to bring this beloved Brooklyn tradition back for another year, my first as president of the greatest borough in the world."

Prospect Park Alliance Interim President James Snow said that "we are thrilled to welcome revelers back for the first time in two years to come to the park to enjoy the gorgeous display," thanking Reynoso for making the occasion come together.
