Pair Arrested in Washington Avenue Metro PCS Hold-Up

Couple arrested just weeks after they were released from jail on bail in connection with more robberies.

A week after someone at gunpoint, two people have been arrested.

A 21-year-old woman and 24-year-old man were arrested Friday evening and charged in connection with four hold-ups of area businesses.

The pair are charged with doing the robberies just a few weeks after getting out of jail on bail where they were being held for previous area robberies.

In addition to the Prospect Heights incident they were charged with holding up a beauty supply store at 347 Ralph Ave. on Dec. 19 at 1:14 p.m., a Metro PCS store at 416 New Lots Ave. the same day at 4 p.m. and a beauty supply store at 180 Rockaway Ave. on Dec. 27 at 4:45 p.m., police said.

At the Prospect Heights store, the woman walked in, showed a gun, and ordered the 26-year-old clerk to “Give me the money.” While keeping the gun trained on the clerk, she took about $1,000 from the register and fled.

Shaniqua Jackson, 21, of Saratoga Avenue and Mustafa Spain, 24, of Van Siclen Ave. are charged with doing the crimes while out on bail for previous robberies (one for Jackson and three for Spain, including one in the 77th Precinct).
