PLG Jewelry Store Owner Fighting For Life After Brutal Robbery: Report
The 79-year-old store owner was savagely beaten by two robbers who made off with $100,000 of jewelry, according to reporting.

PROSPECT-LEFFERTS GARDENS, BROOKLYN — A 79-year-old jewelry store owner remains hospitalized and unconscious after a brutal beatdown from a pair of violent thieves, according to reports.
Manny Cohen remains hospitalized and unconsious after the vicious Dec. 30 robbery inside his Flatbush Avenue store, Roxy Jewelry, the New York Daily News reports.
“These thugs, they went in there with the intention to kill him,” Cohen’s son Shawn told the Daily News. “They thought they killed him. They didn’t have any issue with beating an [old man] to death.”

Police reported that the two men made off with $100,000 of jewelry from Cohen's store and are both still at large, officials told Patch Thursday morning.
But Cohen's son told the Daily News that this wasn't the first time his elderly father was targeted in a violent robbery.

Shawn said that around Thanksgiving, another potential robber attacked his father with a rock inside the store, leaving his father bleeding from the head, the Daily News wrote.
“We are all devastated,” Shawn told the Daily News. “My father was a healthy 79-year-old. He was a health freak. He was working from morning to evening, just to maintain his mental sharpness. It’s devastating for us.”
