Police Warn Of 3 Recent Robberies And Burglaries In Crown Heights-PLG-Area

Including one gunpoint robbery in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens that was caught on video.

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — The NYPD over the weekend said they were looking for suspects in connection with three robberies and burglaries that took place last month in the Crown Heights Prospect-Lefferts Gardens area.

The first incident, a robbery, happened on Tuesday, July 11, police said. A man walked into Crown Fried Chicken, on the corner of Nostrand and Parkside Avenue, just before 11:30 that night, according to police.

The man pulled a gun on the 24-year-old cashier and demanded money, police said. The cashier handed over $550 and escaped, according to police.

The next incident happened July 29 at a construction site on Buffalo Avenue, between St. Marks Avenue and Prospect Place. According to police, a man climbed through the window of an open trailer, took an iPad and $3,000 worth of construction gear and graffiti'ed the inside and outside of the trailer.

The third incident happened at the 7 Eleven on the corner of Empire Boulevard and Bedford Avenue. At around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 30, a man took out a gun and demanded money from the 20-year-old female cashier, police said.

She handed over an undisclosed amount of cash along with candy and a pack of cigarettes and the man fled, according to police. He is pictured above.
