Politician Stacey Abrams To Read New Kids Book In Brooklyn This Month
Her new book, called "Stacey Speaks Up," is about making a difference in the world.

BROOKLYN, NY — Stacey Abrams, the Georgia politician known for her voting rights advocacy, will visit Brooklyn at the end of the month to share her newest children's book with the city's young readers.
Her new book, "Stacey Speaks Up," is a heartwarming tale about standing up for what’s right and carries her signature message of empowerment through activism. It is the third her kids book series, "Stacey's Stories."
Brooklyn Academy of Music is hosting the special event in partnership with the Greenlight Bookstore at the BAM Fisher space on Sept. 24.

For 11 years, Abrams served in the Georgia House of Representatives, including seven years as minority leader. She gained national attention for her 2018 gubernatorial run as the Democratic candidate for Governor of Georgia, where she narrowly lost to Brian Kemp.
During her tenure, she launched multiple organizations devoted to voting rights, and has since written New York Times bestsellers, including "Our Time Is Now" and "Lead from the Outside."

The event starts at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 24 at 321 Ashland Place. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for kids under 12. More information here.
