Senior Picnic Planned for Lincoln Terrace Park

Free musical performances, food and drinks will be provided at the June 15 event.

WEEKSVILLE, BROOKLYN — Neighborhood seniors can enjoy a picnic held in their honor on June 15.

The festivities will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Lincoln Terrace Park, also known as Arthur S. Somers Park, the green area running between Eastern Parkway and East New York Avenue. (Right at the intersection of the Weeksville, Brownsville, Ocean Hill, East Flatbush and Prospect-Lefferts Gardens neighborhoods.)

A live DJ, performances, raffles, food and drinks will be provided, according to picnic organizers.

The picnic is being sponsored by UnitedHealthcare Community Plan.

The day's eclectic musical offerings will include performances by Mambo specialist Orlando Marin and Guinean musician Famoro Dioubate.

In the event of rain, the picnic will take place indoor at the Christopher Blenmen Senior Center, located at 720 East New York Ave.
