Brooklyn, New York – On October 15th 2021 St. Anthony’s Temple Church, Inc. celebrated Pastor Melvin Beverly’s 15th Anniversary in Brooklyn, New York. St. Anthony’s Temple Church, Inc. was established in 1959. Pastor Gwendolyn Chisholm served at the Keynote speaker and Phil Andrews, President of the Board of Directors of St. Anthony’s Temple Church, Inc. served as the moderator for the Anniversary Celebration. The celebration attracted family, friends, business associates and churches that frequently fellowship with St. Anthony’s Temple Church, Inc.

Pastor, Melvin Beverly was saved in the early 1980’s and was baptized at the church of Bishop Huey L. Rogers of Bible Way Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ World Wide in Brooklyn, New York. Pastor, Melvin Beverly attended the Universal House of Prayer where Calvin L. Yates served as the Presiding Pastor. During his time with Universal House of Prayer, he served as a deacon of the church for several years. In addition, he drove youth in the church to Sunday school.

He has studied at America Come Back To God Bible Institute in Brooklyn, New York from 1997 to 2003, under Bishops Wallace Furs, and the theme was based on 2nd Peter 1:10 King James Version -Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: and 2nd Timothy 2:15 King James Version – Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Pastor Beverly had his first pastoring opportunity in 1999, under the tutelage of Life Changing Ministries as an associate pastor. He also served United Methodist Church Nursing Home in Brooklyn for a period of 7 years.
In the year of 2006, Pastor, Melvin Beverly answered the call of God to become a full-time pastor at St. Anthony’s Temple Church, Inc. As part of his outreach ministry, and for many years Pastor, Beverly regularly ministered to the sick and shut in many of the nursing homes throughout New York City.

He has also presided over a host of weddings, baby showers, christenings, and funerals for many years. He is known for his benevolent spirit and continued desire to spread the gospel in the name of The Father, Son, and The Holy Ghost. Under Pastor, Melvin Beverly’s leadership, St. Anthony’s Temple Church, Inc. is experiencing a season of growth and new possibilities. His long-standing commitment to bring the good news gospel to the masses in the metropolitan area is evidenced by the lengthy years of service to the ministry.

Phil Andrews, Moderator – President of Board St. Anthony’s Temple Church, Inc./President Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. About: Phil Andrews, President of the Board of St. Anthony’s Temple Church, Inc. – Phil Andrews is the current President of the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. NY State’s largest African American Chamber. He is the Past President of the 100 Black Men of Long Island, Inc. and President-Emeritus of the Black Public Relations Society-New York Inc. (BPRS-NY) which is New York’s Premier organization for Image Makers and Strategists in Public Relations.
Phil has received many proclamations from notable political officials including offices from New York State Assembly, Nassau and Suffolk County Executives, Long Island Mayors, Senators, NYC Elected Officials and a variety of other elected offices.
He is listed in Who’s Who in Black America and the International Who’s Who. He has been named to City and State Magazine Top Power List on Long Island on two separate occasions. In 2019 the New York District Office of the United States Small Business Administration named Mr. Andrews as the 2019 Small Business Champion for 14 counties in Downstate, New York.
The counties include New York City, Long Island and the downstate counties of Duchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester.
Phil Andrews is the founding President of the African American Small Business Foundation, Inc.
In 2021 Long Island Business News named Mr. Andrews to Top Power List of Long Islanders.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Interfaith Nutrition Network, and was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the Long Island Association.
