BROOKLYN, NY — A teenager was shot and killed in Crown Heights Thursday night, a police spokesperson confirmed with Patch.

Troy Gill, 13, was shot multiple times around 10:40 p.m. near New York Avenue and Bergen Street, according to the NYPD.

Police said Gill had gone to Barclays Center to watch the Nets play the Atlanta Hawks and was walking home alone when he was shot.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

It is unclear what took place before the shots were fired, authorities said.

An NYPD spokesperson said there was no suspect description or any other details about the shooting as of Friday morning and added that the investigation remains ongoing.

This marks the third fatal shooting in Crown Heights this week.

A bodega worker was shot to death on Monday after he refused to buy a cigar for a customer, according to authorities. Lamine Bah, 33, was also shot in the head and killed on McKeever Place on Wednesday, police said.
