Teenage Girls Beat and Rob Woman: Reports From the 77th Precinct

Plus a playground gunpoint mugging, an Underhill Avenue orange attack and a Prospect Place break-in.

Teenage Girls Attack and Rob Woman 

A woman was walking home from the Franklin Avenue station when she was approached by two teenage girls. First they asked her for the time, then they punched her repeatedly in the head and face, took her iPhone 4 and left. The attack took place on Jan. 29 at 11:30 p.m. at the corner of Classon Avenue and Sterling Places.

Playground Hold-Up 

An 18-year-old was held up at gunpoint in a playground last week. The teen was in the playground next to P.S. 316 on Park Place between Washington and Classon, when someone came up behind him, showed him a black gun, took the teen’s iPhone and ran off. The robbery took place at 6:50 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30.

 

Underhill Avenue Orange Attack

A 59-year-old man was at the corner of Park Place and Underhill Avenue when someone he’s never seen before began throwing oranges at him and said “This (expletive) is about to get (expletive)-ed up.” The man was not injured. The fruit attack took place on Dec. 17 at 2 p.m.

 

Burglary on Prospect Place

A burglar ransacked a Prospect Place apartment, making off with close to $1,000 in electronics on Feb. 1.  

The three residents, who live between Carlton and Vanderbilt and are in their 20s, told police that they left their Prospect Place home at 9 a.m. and did not return until 9:10 p.m. When they got home, they found their apartment burglarized, with multiple items out of place and dresser drawers left open. The burglar stole an Apple laptop, a Sony laptop, and an external hard drive.

 

Carlton Avenue Car Break-In

A crook stole close to $3,000 in clothing and electronics from a car parked on Carlton Avenue on Feb. 1.

The 20-year-old victim, who is a New Jersey resident, told police that he parked his car between St. Marks and Prospect at 8 p.m. When he returned to at 9:45 p.m., he found that someone had stolen all his clothing, which he bought recently for $2,695. The crook got away with a Ralph Lauren jacket, a Burberry duffel bag, Jordan sneakers, a Gucci belt, two pairs of designer jeans, a hoodie and a beanie. He also took a Kindle e-reader.
