Woman Shot By Man In Unprovoked Crown Heights Attack, Police Say
The shooting is one of several violent attacks that happened in the city this Memorial Day weekend leaving five people dead, police said.

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — A man opened fire on a Crown Heights block this weekend shooting a woman in the process, police said.
The unprovoked attack happened shortly after midnight Sunday on Troy Avenue near St. Johns Place, according to the NYPD.
The man repeatedly shot a firearm near 249 Troy Avenue, where the woman was standing, striking her with a bullet in the left leg before running off, police said.

First responders rushed the woman to a nearby hospital in stable condition, according to the NYPD. No one else was hurt during the shooting, police said.
As of Tuesday morning — a couple of days after the incident — the shooter remains on the loose, according to the NYPD.

Police described him as a 20-25 year old man last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and white sneakers.
