3 Injured After Ride-Share Driver Jumps Curb In Queens: FDNY
Three people were hospitalized after a ride-share driver rear-ended a parked car, jumped the curb and hit an elderly pedestrian in Woodside.

WOODSIDE, QUEENS — Three people were injured after a ride-share driver rear-ended a parked car, jumped the curb and hit an elderly pedestrian in Woodside on Monday, authorities said.
The crash happened by the intersection of Woodside Avenue and 61st Street just before 1:30 p.m., a Fire Department spokesperson said.
EMS rushed the crash victims to Elmhurst Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, a police spokesperson said Tuesday.

The victims included the 26-year-old driver, a person who was in the parked car and the pedestrian, an 81-year-old woman, according to police.
The car involved in the crash is a licensed for-hire vehicle, according to city records, but it wasn't immediately clear whether the driver had a customer in the car at the time of the crash.

An Uber spokesperson confirmed that the driver involved in the crash works for the ride-share company but said they didn't have any record of him doing any Uber trips Monday.
The driver also worked for Lyft but the crash didn't happen during a Lyft ride, a company spokesperson told Patch. Lyft temporarily suspended him pending an investigation.
