• QBP Richards Announces Funds For St. Mary's Hospital For Children (qgazette.com) — Nearly $1 million in capital funding from Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. will help St. Mary’s Hospital for Children in Bayside build out a new 18-bed inpatient unit. The expansion aims to shorten the waiting list for medically complex kids from Queens and beyond. Hospital leaders say the money will boost long-term, specialized pediatric care many families can’t otherwise afford.

• Iconic Silver Gull Beach Club in Queens partially destroyed by raging fire (nydailynews.com) — An early-morning three-alarm fire heavily damaged the historic Silver Gull Beach Club in Breezy Point, Queens, though no injuries were reported. Firefighters contained the blaze to one structure with 30–40 cabanas, but collapse fears forced them into an exterior attack. The beloved Rockaway beachfront club, a National Park Service concession and longtime summer staple, is now under investigation for the fire’s cause.

• NYPD seek suspect who vandalized a menorah in Queens (audacy.com) — A menorah was torn from a parked vehicle outside a Kew Gardens warehouse for Tomchei Shabbos of Queens, and the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is now investigating. Police say the suspect damaged the religious display and fled toward Kew Gardens Road. No one was hurt, and investigators are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
