Patch compiled a list of three events in Queens celebrating the holiday.

QUEENS – If a borough knows how to celebrate Dia de los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead, it’s Queens.

The holiday, celebrated Nov. 1 and Nov. 2, is a tradition that remembers ancestors and honors the deceased by building altars called ofrendas with the departed's favorite foods. The holiday is largely celebrated in Mexico, as well as Brazil, Ecuador, and other Latin American countries.
