Anthony Bourdain Travels The World In One Borough As 'Parts Unknown' Comes To Queens

The renowned chef meets with local and tries the different cuisines Queens has to offer.

QUEENS — He's traveled the world looking for food, but in this weekend's episode of Parts Unknown Anthony Bourdain has the pick of international offerings in just one borough.

"This is a wonderland. I mean, look at what we've got here," says Bourdain about the huge selection of cuisines cooked up in Queens.

Renowned chef Bourdain's travel and food show will "find the whole wide world in Queens" this Sunday, according to CNN.

He will explore by taking the 7 train around the borough, the network said.

He will visit Corona with Sean Basinski of the Street Vendor Project to talk about the future of food carts: "There's all this talk about cleaning up Roosevelt Avenue, and you know what that means," a vendor says in the episode.

Next, Himanshu Suri, better known as Heens of the Swet Shop Boys, will introduce Bourdain to Chinese food in Flushing. On their visit to Yu Garden Dumpling House, the two will try eclectic dishes such as spicy beef and tripes, boiled pig tongue and tripe marinated in sugar and soy.

Bourdain's cookbook co-author Laurie Woolever will take him on a tour of the Aqueduct racetrack in South Ozone Park.

Other destinations on Bourdain's itinerary will include Woodside's historic Neirs Tavern, which is featured in GoodFellas, and Tibetan restaurant Lhasa Fast Food in Jackson Heights.
