- Baby on board! A thief stole a running car in Queens yesterday morning. The car was parked and running near Hollis Avenue and 190th Street when it was stolen at about 8:45 a.m., according to police. The child and car were found unharmed several blocks away. No arrests were made. (New York Post)
- Mayor Adams declared Juneteenth to be a paid city holiday. Mayor de Blasio had previously promised to make Juneteenth official for 2022 but had not completed the process before leaving office. Juneteenth, the holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States, is Jun. 19. (Queens Chronicle)
- Rent is rising with the demand for housing in Queens. Northwest Queens has seen the highest level of new lease signings in over a decade. As a result, the median rental price is hitting nearly $3,000 per month. (The Real Deal)
