  1. A man was hospitalized on Wednesday after he was shot on a basketball court in Queens. At around 4:00 p.m. inside the basketball courts located in the rear of 411 Beach 51 Street in Far Rockaway, two males entered and fired multiple times at a 22-year-old man. The victim was struck in the leg and transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition. The suspects ran off following the shooting. (FOX 5 NY)
  2. The MTA announced plans to test platform doors at three subway stations in Queens and Manhattan on Wednesday. According to the agency’s chief Janno Lieber, The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) will pilot the barriers at Times Square on the 7 line platform, at Third Avenue on the L line, and at Sutphin Boulevard/JFK on the E train. No timeline has been released for the project, but more details are expected from an agency working group known as the Track Intrusion Task Force. (AMNY)
  3. Six New York City-based artists have been tapped to create installations for the LaGuardia Airport, which will tell the story of the city’s immigrant history and celebrate the city’s diversity. The permanent large-scale art installations, including sculptures and painted ceramic murals, will be displayed at the airport's new Terminal C. The commissioned artists who will create artworks are Mariam Ghani, Rashiid Johnson, Aliza Nisenbaum, Virginia Overton, Ronny Quevedo, and Fred Wilson. (Queens Daily Eagle)
