- Safety upgrades will be coming to three bikes lanes in Queens, according to an announcement from the Department of Transportation. Through a new initiative, plastic bollards marking bike lanes in Long Island City, Astoria, and Forest Hills will be replaced with cement barriers. The upgrades will be coming to Crescent Street from Queens Plaza North to Hoyt Avenue North in Long Island City and Astoria; Vernon Boulevard from 46th Avenue to 30th Road in Long Island City and Astoria; and Queens Boulevard from 73rd Street to Yellowstone Boulevard in Forest Hills. - On Tuesday morning, a person was struck by a Long Island Rail Road train in Queens. The person was struck east of the Forest Hills station, and their condition was not immediately available. The accident caused disrupted service throughout the day, temporarily suspending eastbound service between Penn Station and Jamaica. (WPIX 11 New York)
- Two teens were hospitalized after their moped collided with a car in Queens. Just after 3:00 p.m. on Monday, a surveillance video showed a car turning left from 88th Street onto Cooper Avenue when it collided with a moped as it went past the crosswalk. The 16-year-old female passenger, who is in the hospital in critical condition, and the 15-year-old male driver, who has a broken leg, were knocked off the vehicle during the crash. (CBS New York)
