Brooklyn Man Arrested For Throwing Water On Queens Traffic Cops

Police arrested a Brooklyn man for splashing two NYPD traffic enforcement agents in Woodhaven last week.​

WOODHAVEN, QUEENS — Police on Thursday arrested a Brooklyn man for throwing water on two traffic cops in Woodhaven last week.

The NYPD charged East New York resident Steven Larosa, 35, with obstructing governmental administration and harassment for splashing two traffic enforcement agents on July 24.

The officers were standing by 86th Street and Jamaica Avenue when the man walked up to them, splashed water on them from a bottle and walked away, surveillance video shows.

He held up a cell phone the whole time, as if he were filming.

Videos of people dumping buckets of water on cops in Harlem, Brownsville and The Bronx circulated on social media and have led to four arrests, according to the NYPD and news reports.

Three Republican state legislators have proposed making the act a felony, a response to the recent drenchings of NYPD officers that have already led to some felony charges.
