- We have an update on the story regarding the woman who was hospitalized after being pinned by a car on Sunday. The 49-year-old victim has died, according to a senior police official with direct knowledge of the case. Investigators have a video of the driver and are working to identify the suspect. At this time, no description has been released. (NBC New York)
- As the fifth COVID wave intensifies, some Queens neighborhoods are seeing major spikes. In Long Island City, the rolling seven-day positivity rate now stands at 21.3 percent, according to the latest data posted by the city. As the citywide transmission rate rises to levels last seen in late January, other areas of Queens are nearing or topping 15 percent, along with Manhattan neighborhoods like the Financial District and Lincoln Square. - A new NYC flagship healthcare facility will open today in the Dutch Kills section of Long Island City. Formerly known as Statcare, Nao Medical will be offering free COVID-19 vaccination and booster shots, as well as free monoclonal antibody infusion treatments to all patients to celebrate their opening day. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 12:00 p.m. at the new location, 30-07 36th Ave., just a half-block west of the 36th Avenue N/W subway station. (QNS.com)
