  1. Curbside composting is going to become a reality this fall. The largest composting program in the country will give Queens residents the opportunity to sustainably dispose of food waste. According to a statement by Mayor Eric Adams, the composting program will begin on Oct. 3 and operate on a weekly basis. (Spectrum News NY1)
