- Two people are dead after a tractor-trailer and an ATV collided on Friday. The crash happened just before 2:00 a.m. in Queens Plaza at Jackson Avenue in Long Island City. The two people who died were passengers on the ATV. The driver of the tractor-trailer remained at the scene and is cooperating with police. (FOX 5 New York)
- A man was slashed multiple times with a knife while waiting on a subway platform on Wednesday morning. According to police, the 26-year-old was slashed in the face, arm, and back before his cellphone was stolen. The NYPD is searching for the suspect, who was caught on camera and can be seen at the link. The victim was treated for his wounds at a local hospital. (PIX11 New York News)
- A local organization called the Queens Climate Project is working to encourage neighborhood co-ops to install solar panels. The move would not normally be possible for individual co-ops, but if they work in conjunction they would be able to make it happen, according to Green Buildings Task Force head Rebecca Fenton.
