Off-Duty NYPD Officer Charged With DWI After Queens Crash: Report

Patrick Gross, 32, has reportedly been suspended without pay after crashing on a highway near Bayside.

BAYSIDE, Queens — A New York City police officer has been suspended without pay after crashing into a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, according to police and the New York Daily News.

According to the newspaper, Patrick Gross, 32, struck a vehicle just before 4 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of the Long Island Expressway and Cross Island Parkway, near Bayside.

Neither Gross, who was not working at the time, nor the driver of the other vehicle were injured. Gross was arrested by officers from Bayside's 111th Precinct.

Gross was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while impaired and refusing to take a Breathalyzer test.
