Elite High School Basketball Teams Face Off In Queens 'Grind Session'

Top b-ball high school prospects take the court Thursday as Bronx's Our Saviour Lutheran School and California's Prolific Prep battle.

QUEENS, NY — Two high school basketball powerhouses are poised to grind down the court in Queens.

The Grind Session — a winter circuit for elite high school basketball teams — is holding a game Thursday in Corona that will feature some of the nation's top 100 b-ball prospects, organizers said.

The Bronx's Our Saviour Lutheran School and Napa, California’s Prolific Prep are scheduled to battle 7 p.m. in the Louis Armstrong Recreational Center on Northern Boulevard.

"Battle of the Powerhouses!" the event's page states. "Prolific Prep visits the Big Apple to battle Our Saviour Lutheran in their hometown! Who will come out on top?"

Our Saviour Lutheran's team includes seniors Ian Jackson, who have already committed to playing college ball at North Carolina and Syracuse, respectively, organizers said.

Prolific Prep's roster likewise is filled with prospects, such as seniors Derrion Reid, Alabama commit Aiden Sherrell, Zoom Diallo and Mikey Lewis, Jr., according to a release.

Admission to the game is $15, and is free for children 6 and under.
