RIDGEWOOD, QUEENS — This weekend was one of mourning for the family of a Queens man who ran over and killed his wife as they washed their SUV on Saturday.

Marcos Salas, 50, and his wife were drying off their car at a BP service station in Maspeth just past noon Saturday when the SUV started to roll backwards, according to the New York Daily News.

Salas realized he'd left it in reverse and got into the car to stop it. Instead, he hit the gas pedal, and the car slammed into his wife, 51-year-old Isabel Ramirez-Cohetero, police said.
