Here are the top three stories today in Queens:
- A father and son are among those who were arrested for running an open-air drug market. According to Queens DA Melinda Katz, the five defendants were operating the market on a dead-end street in Jamaica nearby a school. Over 10 kilos of narcotics and four guns were among the items seized by authorities following a long-term investigation by the NYPD. (QNS)
- New York is a Union Town, according to the New York City Council. The council passed Resolution 257, which declared solidarity with workers organizing within unions across the city. Council Member Tiffany Cabán, the lead sponsor on the resolution, joined worker-leaders marching on Jul. 14.
