  1. Police are searching for two people who were targeting food delivery workers at the Queensbridge Houses complex. The robberies took place on Jul. 3 and 4. A 37-year-old worker was threatened with a knife in the first robbery, where the suspects took the food, $90, and a cell phone. In the second instance, the two approached a 42-year-old and stole food, $55, and a cell phone. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward. (Patch)
  2. Rising temperatures over the weekend prompted a visit to Rikers Island by City Council Members Tiffany Cabán and Sandy Nurse. The council members are fearful that the heat wave could cause more deaths in DOC custody. According to reports, 11 New Yorkers have died in DOC custody so far this year. Councilwoman Cabán spoke negatively of the conditions in the prison and the treatment of inmates there. Click the link to read the full statement. (AMNY)
  3. A motorcyclist is dead after rear-ending a car on Tuesday.
